Latin America

I have long felt connected to Latin America, beginning in 1961 when I was the first American Field Service exchange student to Paysandú, Uruguay.

I lived in Guatemala as a Fulbright Scholar in 1966/67 and returned several times. I worked in Tabasco Mexico from 2014-16 creating the first government administered foster care program in Mexico.

Most recently I was invited by UNICEF/Chile to speak about parent advocacy. I used the opportunity to return to Paysandú, Uruguay to visit the family I lived with and a friend I knew from almost 60 years ago.
