Photography

Photography has been part of my life since I was eight years old. My father converted a bathroom in our house to a darkroom to develop x-rays for his medical practice and ended up teaching me to print and develop black and white pictures.

These photographs are a small slice of my decades of work with UNICEF and the World Bank in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union; my years assessing and strengthening child welfare systems in Africa, Asia, and Latin America; and pictures of residential institutions for children.

The galleries are organized by location. Enjoy the exploring!
